An Ordinary Princess

So right now I'm in this fabulous class entitled "The Pitch." In 10 weeks, we create a concept for a show/ comic book series, then make anything we need to go along with it to make a whole pitch packet. At the end of the quarter, we pitch it to a DC executive. Crazy, right?

My concept is about a princess who, at her birth, was blessed by a fairy to be...ordinary. She must now grow up with her six more-than-ordinary sisters. I won't tell you the whole story, but let's just say there's a dragon, a cranky fairy, and an ordinary boy involved. Intrigued? I hope so.

Your Face is Weird

 It's weird.

Just futzing around with color and some new brushes I found on Kecky's DeviantArt.

Copy Kat

Just practicing drawing in Vera Brosgol's style for a project later this quarter. It was really fun using her style; her lines are so clean and fluid. Super fun! This is my character, Kat, jumping/falling/attacking/getting ready to eat a piece of cake.

It's a Body Study, OK

This started as a study of different body types and somehow turned into all the sailor scouts. Flashback! Nostalgia! Really short pleated skirts! Anyways, I wanted to try giving them all different bodies based somewhat on their personalities. ('cause let's be honest, in the show they all have the same face and body) So yeah! Big thighs are fun to draw.

Color Comps

Hello! These are all just some quicky sketchy comps for a project I'm working on. It's a reimagining of Rumpelstiltskin set in Regency era. Crazy! So yeah. Time to work on the final product now.
